Thank you so much for helping to make this year's Chocolate Lover's Fling a success! The energy you and the band bring to the event couldn't be better! Thank you for your generous spirit and fantastic music! Anne Tapp Director for Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Non violence (SPAN) ~ Mark Diamond is one of the busiest and best musicians in Colorado. He has hosted Jazz Jams and Blues Jams for our club for many years and has played here with many performers. We have over 250 nights of live music a year at our place, and when other musicians talk about the best bass players in the business, Mark's name is always at the top of the list! Dan King - The Ambassador of Cool at Boulder Outlook Hotel ~ I have worked with Mark Diamond on NUMEROUS occasions through my years at the Hotel Boulderado. Mark began the "Jazz Showcase" back in 1982 and he always brought in a great crowd. I was a cocktail waitress back then, and it was always so much fun to have his group perform on the nights that I worked. From 1995 - 2005, I was selling wedding receptions and other social functions for the Hotel Boulderado. My colleagues and I referred Mark to many of our clients based on our great working relationship, and they were always pleased with his services. From 2006 through 2011, I was responsible for hiring bands for special events that we hosted at The Boulderado. I frequently hired Mark, because he has the great capability of putting together ALL KINDS of bands in which he plays the upright bass. You can always count on Mark for good communication, a fair price, honesty, integrity, professionalism, and a fun time. He offers a wide variety in genres of music, and we have hired him for everything from Irish-Celtic for the St. Patrick's Day event to big band swing and Frank Sinatra style music for our New Year's Eve Gala Ball. His band members are always respectable and they dress appropriately for the occasion, which I presume is directed through Mark's communication with his colleagues. I highly recommend Mark and I have the utmost respect for him. Beverly Silva Director of Business Development, The Hotel Boulderado ~ Mark is truly the hardest working man in show business! Talented, funny, knows every musician and style of music imaginable! A pleasure to work with. Kay Alton Broker Associate at Chamberlin Investment Group,LLC ~ I just wanted you to know how much I, and really all of us, enjoyed your entertainment last night at our Holiday Party. I had so many comments about how you and your group were just perfect for the evening. Your timely tunes really added to the atmosphere and you weren't so loud as to overpower conversations, a real problem sometimes. I will certainly recommend you in the future. Best of luck, and happy holidays! Brian E. N. Executive Director Boulder Hotel & Motel Association ~ I wanted to thank you for agreeing to be this year’s entertainment for our Gala last week. You, the guys and Teresa made it soooo special. I’m honored to say that I met and chatted with you and even sat at the same table. Although, I seemed to be up a lot. You’re incredibly talented and have wonderful stage presence. I totally appreciated your performance, solo licks and general courtesy and kindness that you extended to everyone. You were very generous with your time and music and I can’t thank you enough. Please put me on your mailing list so that we can become your “new groupies”! Best personal regards, Lisa C., Board Member,ACCESS Housing, Inc. ~ Mark is an excellent musician with a range of styles. You can count on him to deliver, be on time, dress and act appropriately for the audience and put on a great show. Skye Griffith - City Celebration Orchestration, Event Designer, Consultant & Producer. Cirque USA Rep for festivals worldwide. ~ Every time I contact Mark for last-minute performances or changes (many, many times), he is not only flexible and agreeable, he gets right in there with ideas and contributions. He's a fantastic band leader. And then there's his talent. He is one of the finest upright bass players I've heard, and I've 30 years of listening to live music. He's supremely talented. Oh, and he's a super nice guy, too. Believe me, it matters. Honey Sepeda - Writer/Blues Promoter ~ I was a member of the Louisville Cultural Council for 6 years, the last 4 years as their president. Mark Diamond was hired as part of a group more than once, and has a solid reputation as a hard-grooving acoustic bass-player. In June of 2008, when a nationally-known musician was a no show (!?) for a performance in the park, in a few hours time, Mark assembled a team of musicians who gave an unbelievable show. We were so relieved we didn't have to let residents of the city down, and I will forever think of Mark as a true professional who is respected by his peers and relied-upon by venues and event producers. Julie Kovash - Web Content Manager/Producer/Specialist ~ Mark has performed at The Rock N Soul Cafe in a couple of different scenarios. I first became acquainted with Mark and his musical skills when he hosted a weekly blues jam after our venue first opened. Mark always delivered his best no matter what! On one occasion I had the opportunity to host a "Hall Of Fame" Jazz guitarist who was in town visiting. I needed to hire a bass player and drummer to accompany him. Mark stepped in without missing a beat, and it was as if they had been performing together for years! Truly, the performance that night was magical and memorable! Sheryl Radetsky - The Rock N Soul Cafe ~ Mark is a brilliant and versatile musician, a very nice man, and very easy to work with. Buddy Baker Boulder Theater, President at Eclipse Lighting, LLC ~ Mark is the consummate professional. Incredible musician, performer and entertainer. His bands consist of the best musicians in town and their sound is always tight and on the money. We have always had a successful evening when Mark and his mates have played in any of my rooms. Kevin Geraghty - Brendens, President at Experience Hospitality ~ As a member of the Louisville Cultural Council, we hired Mark more than once to perform at the Arts Center and at Concerts in the Park. Once, when a certain famous performer who will go unnamed, ditched us at 3 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. outdoor concert, Mark pulled together a quartet and they put on a great show to thunderous applause for an audience of 500+! We were very grateful and enjoyed the show! Maryan Jaross - Senior Wealth Manager at Gold Medal Waters, Inc. |
CLIENTS...
Mark was absolutely fantastic to work with as we planned our wedding! He was so flexible with our requests, and I truly felt like he was invested in helping us make the day as perfect as possible. He bent over backwards to accommodate us, and was a really great communicator--he checked in just frequently enough to address everything and tie up loose ends. On the actual wedding day, he was professional but was still absolutely genuine and personable. For the half of the wedding that I wasn't spending dancing, I was talking to my friends and family who were complementing Milestone and song choices for the event! I would 10000000% recommend! Sonny E ~ We have 3 lovely daughters, all married now. Mark & Milestone made each of the 3 weddings special. Mark is easy to work with & the band is crazy talented. t They can be as small as a quartet for cocktail hour or as big as a dance band. They do it all, and with such ease. We have a musical family with diverse taste, the band had something for everyone. I never thought I’d say this, but Mark Diamond makes me wish (just a little) that we had a 4th daughter ;) Karla Sweany ~ Mark, All we have to say is...WOW! You guys put on an amazing performance last night. Sarah and I were thrilled to have you back to play for our wedding after we got a preview at Sarah's sister's wedding a few years ago. The guests clearly loved your show based on how packed the dance floor was all night long! Hopefully we can experience your music again someday. S & J ~ Mark, thank you and your band mates so much for a spectacular performance, we could not be happier to have had you be a part of our wedding. You sure know how to please a crowd! Thank you for making our wedding one big dance party, our goal the whole time! You guys are so talented, Ali and I (and our friends and family) were blown away - better than we could have asked for and truly appreciated. If we have future friends in need of recommendations for music, you can bet you'll be the first on our list! :) Kara & Al ~ You made our reception so fun and fabulous! Your band learned all the songs I sent you and sounded so good. The guests had a great time dancing and many exclaimed that you are the best wedding band they've heard. Thank you for being so professional and accommodating. Logan and Alison ~ Y'all were the best! I received so many compliments!!! Best money I spent for my wedding!! Ashlee ~ Thank you so much for your wonderful talents at our wedding. The music was phenomenal and helped to create my perfectly imagined atmosphere at the reception! Everyone was raving about Mary Ann's talent as well as the efforts of The Mark Diamond Trio! I would recommend you to anyone - we could not have been more pleased! Thank you once again for taking care of all our needs and making our reception perfect! Jennifer F. R. ~ Thank you so much for providing the music for our wedding and for accommodating the special needs of the venue - you have been so flexible and we SO appreciate that. It has been awesome working with you!!! Stephanie and Tome ~ Honestly, we are thrilled we chose you guys. You play with such precision and passion. Just like the 60's. Nothing like the commercial and cursory treatment you hear from the countless "oldies' party bands. Also you felt like "family". Perfect. Jay and Carol ~ More than six months have passed since Beth and I were married at Sunspot in Winter Park, but I have been intending to write to you ever since. The music for our wedding ceremony was very important to us, and I had fixed my mind upon a jazz substitution for the usual classical music. After a good bit of research we were sure that you, Rich and Andy would be perfect. You were great to work with in choosing the appropriate songs, figuring out logistics, etc. And during the setup for the ceremony, the three of you were bright spots among the hustle and bustle - incredibly warm, friendly and accommodating. But it was the ceremony itself that really blew me away. Our brothers and I walked down the aisle to "My One and Only Love," and it gave me goosebumps. Once I was installed in place up front, looking out at my family and friends, a few beats went by and I looked over at you on the bass. I can't believe you would remember it, but you gave me a wink and a smile and with that, the three of you moved into "There Is No Greater Love." Those first notes hit, and my wife-to-be appeared, and my eyes welled up and I nearly lost it. It was a truly perfect moment, and I will never forget it. It's not often in life that things turn out just the way you hoped they would, and when they do (and even surpass your hopes), it's quite a powerful experience. Your music, and the feel you three lent to it and the event, were an integral part of that. Thank you three for all you did. I'm sure we'll be catching one of your gigs one of these days when we are in Denver: We'll see you then. Best regards, Matt S. ~ We've been meaning to write for weeks. The music at the wedding was AMAZING! Bill Kopper was a perfect recommendation for the ceremony. We were nervous about the dining hall layout, and how it would affect the music and dancing. YOU made sure it all worked out. Everyone was blown away by the band. The Zeppelin tune was a big hit - so many people commented on it. It is hard to believe the band had never done "You Send Me" together. And, "I Get By" (With A Little Help From My Friends) - Oh my God - what a last song - completely captured the night. It brought the evening back to the emotions of the ceremony - a chance for us to look around at all our friends and absorb the feelings of the night one last time. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! S & K ~ Thank you so much for making our wedding rock! It was such an amazing party, we all had a wonderful time! The music really made the night, everyone was so into the band and you guys were a great hit. "Thank You" was awesome and "All You Need is Love" was such a great way to end the night. Does everyone do the large group hug during that song? That was one of my favorite parts! Thank you so much again, take care and enjoy the fall! Best, L and P ~ David and I would like to thank you for your music at our wedding reception at Black Canyon Inn. It added the perfect mood, and the music was GREAT! We are so glad Pascal recommended you. You were affordable and a pleasure to work with. We would highly recommend you to anyone. Thanks for your gift of music. Sincerely, Karyn G. & David N. ~ We wanted to thank you and the trio for providing such wonderful music at our wedding. It created a fantastic mood for the day. You and Andy playing, and Mary Ann's magnificent voice were fantastic! We are so appreciative of all the time you took to learn our special songs. When you did "You Make Me So Very Happy", it was a very special moment for us. Mary Ann did a wonderful job with the vocals. David Clayton Thomas would be proud. Thank you again for all your hard work. We hope to see you again many times in the future. Perhaps we can have you play at our 10th anniversary party. Plans are already in the works! All our best, David and Joan S. ~ Jared and I would like to thank you for the great tunes at our wedding. You and your band helped in creating a very special day for us. You all are still a major topic of conversation among our friends and family. Thank you! Sincerely, Lauren & Jared ~ Mark put together a great ensemble (including himself on upright bass) for our wedding and reception. They sounded phenomenal, and Mark was great to work with. He was very professional and responsive, and delivered a great night for us and our guests! Becky Farr Seidel - Colorado Nonprofit Attorney |
COLLEAGUES...
I am a performer (pianist and keyboardist) and teacher (University Of Denver) and I have known Mark for 25+ years. First of all, Mark Diamond is a fantastic bassist! He's able to play all sorts of styles and he plays each one with authenticity and soul. That's why he's always working - everybody wants him in his or her band. As a bandleader Mark is a pleasure to work for. He always makes the gig enjoyable and fun and does a great job communicating with the audience. He's a consummate professional in his dealings with clients and musicians. Eric Gunnison - Performer & Teacher at University of Denver ~ "Mark is one of the best bass players on the planet." Chris Daniels Assistant Professor at University of Colorado Denver and Owner, Chris Daniels & the Kings ~ Mark Diamond is not only a world-class superb bassist , but he is a consummate professional in every other aspect of musicianship. Incredibly personable and incredibly versatile. A very gracious person and an asset to any ensemble.. A pleasure to work with. Tony Rosario Producer/Recording Artist/ Songwriter ~ As a professional musician of 20+ years I have studied with many famous bass players. Included in this list are Joel DiBartolo (The Tonight Show Band), Bruce Gertz (Berklee College of Music) and Jeff Berlin. But the best bass lesson I've ever had was from Mark Diamond in 5 minutes at a sound check at The Fox Theater in Boulder, Colorado. Few people understand the mechanics of the upright bass like Mark does and even fewer people in the music business have the positivity that Mark emanates. A true pro and a fierce friend. Brian Schey - Musician, Composer and Record Producer ~ I've known Mark for many years. During that time, I have seen and heard him play many styles of music (blues, jazz, country, bluegrass, rock, etc.) and he has always given his best. It's important to note that this has been true for well-rehearsed performances as well as impromptu jam sessions with musicians he had just met. Mark's professionalism, passion and dedication to playing, along with his friendly demeanor and stage presence, make him one of the best bassists in Colorado - and that's saying something, because there are many world-class bassists here. Jim Primock - James R. Primock Digital Prepress Services ~ Mark is real pro and very versatile in many styles of music. I would not hesitate to play a gig with him. Bob Cannistraro - Prez at REC Associates ~ Mark Diamond is an energetic, enthusiastic, soulful, and very talented musician. Mark exercises excellent taste and support/'compliments' to every music ensemble in which he participates. I have performed and recorded with Mark Diamond. He comes with my highest recommendation. Michael "Hawkeye" Herman - Owner, Topaz Productions ~ Mark Diamond has been established in the Denver area as "The Guy" to go to for bass in a variety of formats, and ensembles for many years. I consider Mark to be one of the best players in our area, and a great guy to know personally! If I were looking for a bass player to add to any group as a fill in, or if I were looking for someone to put together a group to play at an event, Mark would be one of my top choices. Mark is highly respected as an A+ musician not just locally, but regionally and nationally and his list of credits is quite an achievement! Lee Johnson - Songwriter - Lee Johnson Songs and Doboy Productions ~ I have known and worked with Mark - both directly and indirectly - for over 20 years. He is consistently known among Denver's top musicians as one of the few and the best at what he does. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Anyone seeking an outstanding bassist would be well served by contacting Mark. Pat Emerine - Quality Entertainment for Quality Events ~ Mark Diamond is, hands down, the most talented and professional upright bass player around. He is a consummate musician; working constantly and in many different arenas and genres. Mark is sought after for recording and playing for many reasons. He has a very respectful and easy going demeanor which puts everyone around at ease. And, Mark brings a great intelligence to his music, raising the level of performance in those around him. In every encounter with Mark, I feel special and walk away with a smile. Mark is reliable, kind, talented and a great joy to watch and hear! I’m grateful we get to see him perform as often as we do. I highly recommend Mark. Jill Michko - Experienced Vocalist, Supporter of live music, Manager at University of Colorado Boulder ~ Mark always performs beyond expectation, and does so creatively. Can always count on a solid recording. Mark Derryberry - Independent Entertainment Professional ~ I am happy to say that I have known Mark Diamond for almost 30 years now. He has always been a consummate professional and a serious team player. He is a gifted musician, a wonderful Bass player with an amazing ability to groove hard no matter what style of music. He is a fantastic Jazz player and can switch effortlessly to Blues or Latin music. He is a great band leader, organized and prepared and treats his players well. I have always enjoyed playing with him and look forward to playing with him in the future! I highly recommend Mark for any situation that needs a great player and a great leader John March - Zen and the art of audio and soundI |
